They know they're evil. But they cloak every morally bad act with the excuse of opposition to abortion. It lets them partition the worthy and unworthy poor at the first breath.

For sure, they'd pay for their sister's abortion. But sanctimony on the issue allows the cruelty without the influence of moral distress
