Deus ex machina, Latin for "god from the machine," is a plot device where a seemingly unsolvable problem is suddenly and unexpectedly resolved by an unlikely occurrence, often involving divine intervention or a miraculous event. It's a literary and dramatic technique, frequently used in ancient Greek and Roman drama, where a god would be lowered onto the stage by a crane (the "machine" ) to resolve the conflict.
