And it certainly doesn't excuse Isaacson an excuse for being so gullible.

Musk suffers from the delusion that he's a unique genius capable of doing the best for humanity. Many tech bros are in a similar boat. Unfortunately they mistake having a lot of money with being good at things unrelated to their companies.
