How to identify ICE agents. . . looking for suggestions . . . [View all]
I live in a red stategovernor, senators, congressman, state legislatureand though I call and e-mail them every day (and I mean EVERY day), I swear if I issue a plea for action, they do the opposite.
Today I watched recordings showing a multitude of ICE raids. Most are performed by heavily-armed, unidentifiable mask wearers. In those that occur in private homes, the agents do not have warrants and would probably have great difficulty expressing legitimate probable cause. Likewise, I see them put their hands on American citizens, but if that action is reciprocated, they scream assault on a law enforcement officer.
What I am witnessing often appears to be kidnapping, at the least, and if the victims are brutalized (such as being incarcerated at Alligator Auschwitz) it seems more like a war crime.
It seems to me that members of Congress, with their oversight authority, are entitled to the identity of these masked agents. They are paid for by the taxpayer (including bonuses) and our congresscritters should be entitled to an employee list. Future prosecutions will require that the perpetrators be identified. I will contact my members of Congress, asking them to do this, but anyone out there with sympathetic (blue) members of Congress might suggest this to someone who would be receptive to the idea.
If our country survives, it will be necessary to prosecute war criminals. Those for whom cruelty is a part (or a perk) of the job cannot be allowed to fall back on the old Nazi claim they were just following orders. But for prosecutions to occur, we must have identification. Any ideas besides contacting members of Congress?
