274. Look. Let me explain this one more time as elementary as I can. Okay?

When I take my car to the shop for repair, I tell the mechanic "hey, it's making a squeaking noise". But it is the mechanic's job to find and fix the problem because I am engaging him to do that. I don't tell him, you need to replace the starter or you need to replace the alternator. I let him tell me what needs to be fixed. That's his or her job. Because that is not my area of expertise. In this case, it's a monetary thing. I have sought out the mechanic, agreed to pay him of her for their service, and he or she is agreeing to provide that service for the amount of money we have agreed upon.

Follow me so far? Okay...

In the case of elected officials, it is them having sought an office and being voted into that office. That's the nature of their relationship with me and/or their constituents. They are paid a salary. Therefore, they have a job to do. It is THEIR job to figure this out. It is NOT my job. Just like with the mechanic, I do not have the expertise. Why should voters be telling the politicians what to do? We tell them what the problems are, what our needs and our wants are, etc., but it has always been left up to the politicians to frame the responses and the actions. Why has that changed? Why am I (and others) now being asked to come up with the solution? That is not my job. I am not paid to do that.

This has NOTHING to do with constituents making phone calls or going to protests or knocking on doors. There are numerous responses to my posts on this thread which insinuate that I, of course, are doing none of those things. Well, I think MOST people are doing those things right now. But it's not enough.

Democrats need to craft a response. Easy? No, it's not easy. But it is up to THEM and THEY are our only chance at keeping Trump from becoming king. So, I want something from them. I want them to put their heads together and I want them to think outside of the box (because that's what Republicans do), I want them to push the envelope if necessary, and I want them to DO THEIR FUCKING JOB AND SAVE MY COUNTRY BECAUSE MY COUNTRY IS DYING RIGHT IN FRONT OF MY EYES.

If you have a problem with that, then so be it. I'm tired of being berated all day on this thread and I'm not responding any more. So, you reply if you want but I'm not going to read it. I can guarantee you one thing: I am a lifelong Democrat in the State of Texas and I am very well versed in being the minority anywhere. So if my beliefs are in the minority on DU, then so be it. They are not likely to ever change.
