In reply to the discussion: Medhi Hasan " Should Jon Stewart Run for President in 2028? [View all]EdmondDantes_
(1,276 posts)43. No thanks. I want the next president to be utterly prepared
A novice won't have the experience needed to fix everything, especially given the current Supreme Court. Even Biden didn't have nominees ready to go for every department and some he had couldn't get past the Senate. Given there's a significant likelihood of a Republican Senate even in 2028, we need a candidate who will know how to either get nominees confirmed for everything, or a plan for recess/acting appointments and then a plan for after that.
Not to mention needing to rebuild what's currently being broken. I want the most experienced, competent person that is capable of selling themselves to the public, not the person who only has experience selling themselves to the public.
