(18,362 posts)38. Yep, and the year 2000 changed everything
Before then you went in showed your voter certificate and pick up your ballot, go to your polling booth, cast your ballot, drop off in the tabulator, make sure the US flag waves at you and be done for the day!
Since 2000 republicans have made it harder to vote.
And at the Texas DMV I had to provide my birth certificate to receive a new license, otherwise I would not get it removed. I also had to get an appointment before being seen. That was over a 3 month waiting period.
I suppose theres no going back to the good ol days of sanity.

Rump is a liar. No voter has ever been asked to provide their car license plate.

Every time I go to vote, I have to hand them my driver's license and they swipe it in their little machine.

If the GQP wasn't fully complicit, the 25th Amendment absolutely would have been invoked by now.

Who here has ever had to unscrew their license plate from their vehicle before heading into the voting booth?

Voting by mail is so 20th century. Voting by license plate: the future is now.
