The essence of the summary judgement was Trump's army of lawyers couldn't refute the evidence AG James had collected to establish her case well enough to make it an issue for trial. So there would be no trial over that. The trial was over bickering about how much the fraud damages were that was eventually decided at: ~$454 mil.
If it had not been for the statute of limitations, it probably would have been much higher.
"Preponderance of the evidence" is the legal standard used in civil cases - their version of the facts is more likely than not to be true. But if you read the docket as I did, you feel like AG James hit the criminal standard: "beyond a reasonable doubt" - a very high degree of certainty.

AG James also made referrals to the IRS and SDNY for this behavior.
Trump employed 16 different fraudulent deceptive strategies on 23 assets committing about 500 fraudulent acts which she proved in a court of law. But according to Trump, Attorney General of NY Letitia James was wrong for doing her job to look into these fraudulent acts and prove they occurred and Trump is now sending the DoJ to go after her.
In a normal past world when the US media did real journalism, this wouldn't stand. The DoJ would not act on political retribution. But here we are ...
