6. The history as I understand it
Mon Aug 25, 2025, 10:05 AM
Aug 2025

He came to this country at 16.
He was deported to an El Salvadoran prison by an administration mistake.
After a month in that prison, a judges ordered his returned to US.
Where he was arrested and charged with trafficking.
He was offered a plea agreement with deportation to Costa Rica.
He refused the deal.
The main witness against him is a three time convicted felon who will not be deported in exchange for his testimony.
Garcia was arrested today when he showed up for his immigration hearing.
The government is now trying to deport him to….Uganda?
WTF?

He was given the option to go to Costa Rica. I would have taken it. Sometimes you just can't fight the system. LeftInTX Aug 2025 #9
I think the "option" was prison in the US first after pleading guilty to human smuggling, and then to Costa Rica muriel_volestrangler Aug 2025 #13
OK...So, he's in a bad spot. LeftInTX Aug 2025 #15
Someone who I'm a familiar with was arrested for human smuggling in 2023. LeftInTX Aug 2025 #17
