An implanted port device is IV access placed typically in the upper chest....like a pacemaker is under the skin, the port goes in like say the jugular vein...
This would be a logical IV access that they can conceal.... So, yes, the hand bruises look like they could be from an IV....actually a good IV nurse would use a smaller needle like even a 24 gage...and no bruising should happen essentially....unless he is on blood thinners...then the odds of bruising go up....
I ask, why not use an inner forearm vein for the IV as well???
With this clinical skill knowledge...I tend to question he is getting IV's in his hand...
