I suspect they might exist, but I doubt I’ll ever know for sure.

That said, I often find myself fascinated by the idea of our collective reaction if we were to make contact someday. The moment our species comes to a shared realization would be… unimaginable to me. Some people would respond with fear and chaos, others with hope and wonder. Witnessing the full spectrum of human reaction to something entirely unprecedented in the history of the human race, something we have zero experience with and no framework to anticipate, could be almost as fascinating as the event itself.
