My wife (77) and I (78) are at our breaking point. Yesterday I wrote: As we all watch, seemingly helpless, as DJT tears down our country as we know it. That post received 210 recommendations proof that others feel this same weight.

However, today I realized something else that fuels my frustration: the endless stream of political emails. Every urgent request for a signature inevitably turns into a plea for another donation.
We already contribute more than $100 a month to causes and groups fighting for a better cause. Still, my inbox is buried under 1825 of these requests every single day.
And heres the real cost: weve missed messages from friends. Weve missed healthcare notices we need to respond to. Our personal lifelines are getting lost in the noise of pleas that never stop.
I regret letting my email become overrun like this. What started as a genuine desire to stay engaged and support our country has turned into an overwhelming assault on daily life.
Does anyone else feel trapped in this same cycle?

We are not giving up. My grandfather did not give up in France in World War I. My Dad did not give up at his WW II jungle radio station on the Amazon River. Intercepting German U-Boat communications. I did not give up at my medical duty station, treating those in need during Vietnam. And I don't want others to give up in this serious assault from within on our Democracy. But I can't ignore the things that stretch our abilities to stay in the fight.

Feel it, and your post could have been my own, word-for-word; especially vexing is this:

The concept of Act Blue to make it safer and easier to donate was good. In practice, not so much

I have tried a similar structure example. It falls on deaf ears. Look what they did to David Hogg & LeadersWeDeserve....

Act Blue has become a creeping cancer. I regret ever giving them my email. I still donate, but on my (our) terms.

1.7% of funds raised through those fundraising emails and texts go to the Democratic party.

I'm sorry. Our local party uses ActBlue. With the exception of tips, the funds go directly to the local party.

Don't donate to PACs that spring up overnight. We had that before Joe Biden resigned.

No one should give even a nickel to the as@holes who send unsolicited texts, emails and certainly not telephone calls.
