(4,313 posts)I set up two new emails. My personal one and my more political one. It has helped a lot. Before that, I couldn't find my friends emails buried in the junk.
The latter email address is the one I give to retailers too, not just for donations and subscriptions. Much of the time, all I can do with that account is mark them all read, after a quick scan of subject heads. Sometimes not even that.
In the run up to the 2024 election I made some mistakes keeping the two email addresses separate and now the level of commercial/political stuff is starting to creep up. I'm going through and unsubscribing.
It's tedious but once I get it done, it's freeing. I used to have trouble making myself unsubscribe from emails from those I admire. But I've been following wise advice lately: protect your time so you have it to invest in other areas.
