We’re having a test out here in California. Newsom’s fighting back, and after some hesitation I fully back him on the gerrymandering issue.

But here’s a thing: most people don’t pay as close attention as we do here. So far I have received three flyers in the mail and have seen ads on tv — all of for a No vote, and all of them using our own words against us. If I didn’t know what I actually do know, I would furiously write off Newsom as a dirty governor.

This is going to be very tough.
