Is your point that the democratic party’s needs more trans jokes? I’m guessing it’s that using a person’s preferred pronouns deserves derision if that pronoun doesn’t match the sex assigned at birth. “Two spirits” is an engineered term designed to capture the multifarious gender role nuances found in Indigenous American history. The problem is we are not a monolith, neither by tribe or by individual within a tribe. Some of us don’t like myths imposed on our culture from without. We are also just as likely to punch down as any other human. There are a lot of conversations to be had about transgender issues and the use of the term “two spirits”, but I don’t find set up and punchline “pronouns” funny.
