7. It's not the fault of democracy that millions don't learn it and try to preserve it. That's on them.

And because of that, they and the oligarch class (even beyond U.S. borders) have taken the benefits of democracy for granted, misused it for selfish ends, and now used a selfish leader who would be a tool of those who'd destroy it right out from under them in the name of 'rule of men' power, while they've all dragged millions down a destructive path...

We knew in advance the unintended consequences of right wing voters' gullibility and stupidity. Those voters didn't. They stubbornly won't admit their mistake, and consider their suffering the cost of being on a "winning" side with the 1%.

Democracy doesn't defend itself. It only takes a critical mass of stupid voters -- the consistently stupid voter block of 30%, according to polls -- to cripple democracy's equality & justice for all in the name of being a dominating group of we the people.

The U.S. also still has a critical mass of the smart.
The smart know they know they outnumber the stupid, and act to get out the smart vote.

Youth have too much of their future at stake to allow what's happening to continue. So imo, I'd suggest you fight jaded feelings, since the past is past, and the future isn't written in stone. They're the ones out there fighting, and old folks would do well to fully support them. It will be a big fight to preserve democracy, but as Biden has said repeatedly, there's nothing we can't do if we do it together.
