First, there is not a single budget bill. They usually pass the farm bill separate from the defense bill separate from ...

And the normal procedure is to put the least popular stuff into the bills that everybody is afraid to vote against. So don't count on much resistance inside the Capitol. What we need is strong push-back OUTSIDE the Beltway. And it is getting late for that. I will never understand how Dems think it is smart to just lay low on these things.

Even when they plan to oppose these bills, you never hear any clear demands of what the Dems insist must be in the bill. The public looks at that and they have no reason to give Dems credit for anything.

Why are we not out there on the Sunday morning shows TODAY with our list of demands that must be in the bill? Sure, the GOP might pass it without us. But the most important thing is to show the American people WHAT we are willing to fight for. At this point, who knows?
