So, there is evidence of immunosuppression/increased risk--even for a younger person and certainly an increased risk for infection and transmission of COVID-19 as a primary caretaker--to both.

Your physician should be reminded of both and asked for a prescription. Frankly, that description alone should make you eligible, but the pharmacists are no doubt unwilling to interpret even obvious risk factors--in Texas- given the current situation. So, the best bet is probably to call your physician for the prescription before going to the pharmacy.
