(12,545 posts)I am incredibly disappointed and frustrated that so many Democratic leaders immediately started framing this incident as "political violence" clearly implied was that it was a Democrat attacking a Republican.
That framing is both irresponsible and dangerous because:
1) NO SUSPECT
2) NO EVIDENCE
For all we know that could be a disgruntled father of an underage girl he has been repeatedly raping since she was 8.
See how I created a narrative out of thin air with zero evidence?
Even if you didn't believe its the truth, it's not, there is a small part of you that can't shake that feeling of anger that Kirk would do something like that. The psychology of being first to shape the narrative is literally the difference between peace and war.
That is my point.
What we don't need is a bunch of sycophantic posturing and bowing to the right because their favorite Nazi got himself killed because he molested little girls (see, you twitched a little reading that sentence).
The problem we face is the right has already started shaping their version of events and those on the left are only helping by using phrases like "political violence" to frame what happened with zero suspects and zero evidence.
That is dangerous and very irresponsible. They need to stop. Immediately.
