3. Grocery prices are bad right now...it's not just that prices are up, but the usual sales have evaporated

I really do hate anecdotal accounts of stuff like this, as it only leads to various naysayers responding that this or that is down in price by them/ around their way. This article does seem to support my own perceptions with some hard data, in any case.

It feels very holy shit and inflation-y at this point when you walk through a grocery store. My main store usually had sales if you buy 5 (mix and match), which was good for us since I'd do the shopping all at once, so I'd always be able to find at least five things I needed that qualified. That's sometimes not available now. The coupons are disappearing on the items we need. And don't get me started on the meat section, which was scammy even in the best of times but is now sometimes eye-popping.

I gotta think that even if you're a hardcore MAGA, a trip to the grocery store these days is an objective irritant. You can't Trump-talk it away. It's quite real.
