The U.N. [View all]

I don't know much about this. There's a call here on DU for people to only post stuff supported by links. I'm not following that. Here is just a tidbit of some info that I ran across some time ago.

Obama signed an authorization--an MOU, or something from the UN--that authorizes the UN to enter the US legally and intervene in fighting (major, hot fighting) if need be. This sign on was delayed, but Obama did it finally.

We all have seen that the UN is largely ineffective in mustering troops to help anybody. Still, they do show up here and there. I think they were in Gaza. These are the troops that wear powder blue helmets when they are geared up. They come from different countries. I don't know where the US stands in supplying troops, but I find it interesting and somewhat comforting that Obama signed that. There's always hope somewhere. The UN could muscle up in our favor.
