From at least in or about 2002, up to and including in or about 2005, in the Southern District of New York, JEFFREY EPSTEIN, the defendant, willfully and knowingly, in and affecting interstate and foreign commerce, did recruit, entice, harbor, transport, provide, and obtain by any means a person, knowing that the person had not attained the age of 18 years and would be caused to engage in a commercial sex act, and did aid and abet the same, to wit, EPSTEIN recruited, enticed, harbored, transported, provided, and obtained numerous individuals who were less than 18 years old, including but not limited to Minor Victim-1, as described above, and who were then caused to engage in at least one commercial sex act in
Manhattan, New York.

Blatant lie #1 (see info from indictment above)
Blatant lie #2
In July 2006, the FBI began its own investigation of Epstein, nicknamed "Operation Leap Year". It resulted in 53 page indictment in June 2007.
The Bush DOJ/Alex Acosta ultimately decided against pursuing the indictment and instead gave him the sweetheart deal. But I suspect it would be rather difficult to develop a 53-page indictment with "a very limited search warrant, or set of search warrants" and not "as much investigatory material as it should have seized". Considering the 2019 indictment was only 14 pages and referred only to the period 2002-2005, and thus was likely based at least in part on evidence collected during the 2006 investigation.

Kennedy, alongside other senators, questioned Patel over the Epstein files on Tuesday morning. "You've seen most of the files. Who if anyone did Epstein traffic these young women to, besides himself?" Kennedy asked Patel. Patel responded, "Himself. There is no credible information, none. If there were I would bring the case yesterday that he trafficked to other individuals. And the information we have, again, is limited."
Blatant lie #1 (see info from indictment above)
FBI Director Kash Patel, on Tuesday: "I know there's a lot of talk about Epstein, and I'm here to testify that the original sin in the Epstein case was the way it was initially brought by Mr. Acosta back in 2006. The original case involved a very limited search warrant, or set of search warrants, and didn't take as much investigatory material as it should have seized. If I were FBI director back then, it wouldn't have happened."

If Epstein was not trafficking, why were there billions of dollars moving through his bank accounts?
