13. As long as ABC pays Kimmel what's owed on his contract, he would have no case to file a lawsuit - no court is going

to force a network to keep a show on the air. It's not like networks have never cancelled shows for non-business reasons - shows have been cancelled due to the show or star becoming too controversial and for entirely petty reasons like a network executive simply disliking a star or producer.
