...everyone should take notice how much this screed is focused against the Dem leader and not on the health benefits that millions of us rely on to survive he's advocating for.

There's also a demand that republicans agree to limits on the president's ability to interrupt or cancel out funding approved by Congress. (I'd bet a paycheck that people hollering at the Dem leader don't know aquat about that or any of the other demands).

Schumer is fighting for those priorities, not this petty political fighting that characterizes ALL of the objection here to this reasonable, and normal in any other world, attempt to lay out DEMOCRATIC party priorities in a republican majority budget.

How is this any different from the negotiations that would follow a shutdown, which is still more than likely to occur because of republican intransigence?

What the did you expect to happen after the shutdown? For republicans to curl in a ball and fold just because government isn't doing the things they didn't want it to in the first place?

ANY political protest needs to have a legislative goal attached, or else it's just volume and agitation to no effect at all in the end.
