People pointed that out and it's still true. States run elections and his term will end no later than noon on January 20, 2029, presuming he doesn't succumb to his unhealthy habits before then.

Like the national Constitution prescribes certain things about elections, state constitutions mandate the elections be held. And the constitution has limits on when terms end. So if there's no election, those terms still end.
