IL's governor has told state, county, and city law enforcement not to help ICE and to stand back. Why? So that there will be no mistake about the evidence that he's having collected on ICE. Police can't throw federal enforcers in jail. Even when and where the feds don't occupy a city, police and the courts have ruled that citizens can have no reasonable expectation that police are to protect them. Police are protectors of money and property first, humans second.
