So Israel tied up these people, blindfolded them, placed straps around their necks(?!), tortured them and at some point summary executed them. Most were civilians, some elderly.
There is no end to the war crimes and cruelty.
It isnt clear whether the unidentified bodies, marked only by numerical identifiers, were those of people who died in Israeli prisons or were bodies taken from Gaza by Israeli troops.
Israel kidnaps bodies too, from Gaza, not just live people as we knew?
Just how many bodies does Israel hold? According to Haaretz, something like 1500 in one of its prisons. Another figure I read is over 700 - some held for many years in refrigerators in Israeli torture camps, er prisons that Israel has refused to release to their families.
It's as if Israel is holding these dead Palestinians as hostages and bargaining chips for some future benefit or maybe just to torment their families. Or hide their crimes.
Of course this story about dead Palestinians Israel has returned will disappear in a few days and no one will follow up. These people will remain unknown, anonymous and forgotten by the world. Their families will never know what happened to them but will be tormented by the knowledge of what Israel does to its prisoners or those it captures.
Keep all this in mind as you read the wall-to-wall coverage of Israeli hostages, their personal stories and their suffering. If only the same respect and empathy were provided to all equally.
