10. Private school vouchers not what I'm talking about

Vouchers take taxpayer funds out of the public education budget. I don't want my tax money supporting private religious education that I don't believe in. My taxes are paid to support public education and that's it. My kids and all my neighbors' kids get public education, because we're all paying our taxes to support it.

What you are talking about is a scheme to get private religious schools paid for by public tax moneys, and that's undemocratic. Churches (and private schools) need to figure out how they can afford to give religious instruction to their children without taking money from the public education funds.

Catholic families aren't wealthy, and yet many of them choose to send their children to Catholic schools. My parents raised a family of 9 children and all of us had Catholic school education until 9th grade, and then we transferred to public high school.
