Together, the DU community has raised over $3.5 million in the last 10 years at ActBlue. Asking for $ for political candidates is part of what I do on the DU. Today I would like to introduce a friend of mine, Darin Tompkins. He is running for the Nebraska State Legislature in District 36 next year. Democrats are a minority in the legislature. We are lucky to have just enough votes, usually to filibuster bad legislation. That line of defense is always in danger of falling on election day. It is that razor-thin close of a margin.
I'm asking for small donations (as little as $3) to start Darin off with some start up $. I'm also asking for a R, and a reply to keep this visible for a few days.

PAPILLION, Neb. (WOWT) - Another candidate for state legislature has entered their name into the race, this time for a seat representing the southern and western portions of Sarpy County.
Darin Tompkins, a leader at a Nebraska animal health vaccine manufacturing plant for 12 years, announced that he will be running for Nebraskas 36th district in a release sent Monday.
The seat is currently held by State Senator Rick Holdcroft, who was elected to the seat in 2022.
Tompkins, a South Dakota native that has lived in Nebraska for over 27 years, says his focus in the legislature will be relieving residents property tax burden.
