When I got my first Shingrix I called the pharmacy, Publix, and told them that I had Medicare part D and they told me that the vaccine was covered and didn't require a prescription. The only vaccine that I had to have a discussion with them on was the measles, mmr. But I told them that my sister lives in an area in Texas close to the outbreak. Also she works closely with several staff members who are from Chihuahua where there has also been an outbreak. Even if that wasn't the case I would have wanted the measles vaccine anyway since it can be crippling or deadly for the elderly.
