Call up your service, be it ConEdision, SouthernCaliforniaEdision, or it might be a small municipal utility, and try to get a real person and a service order number.

Be nice. They're a monopoly so they don't have to be nice back, but also remember that the person who answers the phone is probable working their ass off at minimum wage.

And niceness will get you everywhere!

See if you can get them to narrow it down to a morning or afternoon call on a specific day.
