8. To me it seems that much

of the ignorant and apathetic third of the electorate is waking up, finally, and do not like what they see.

The Republican third is holding mostly firm as they follow their Dear Leader into hell. Although I don't expect more than a couple of percent of them to vote Democratic, there were about twenty percent who disapproved of Trump after his failed coup attempt and probably many of these will just stay home rather than vote.

Hopefully the moderate Democratic voters won't follow Schumer's example and refuse to support Democratic candidates who are too left wing for their taste, or even worse, support Republican-lite plants meant to weaken the Democratic candidates. It is going to be difficult for Republicans to gerrymander and disenfranchise their way to control of the House, but they are putting forth an extreme effort and we will need every vote.
