In reply to the discussion: I Know When The Russia/Ukraine War Will End [View all]Buckeyeblue

Trump can't seem to go against Putin. He tried for a minute but whatever Putin has on him is just too damaging to Trump.
But a number of Republicans understand the threat of letting Putin get his way. I don't think Trump has the support to push for a peace plan that is really a Ukrainian surrender. Also, I don't think Europe, who has the most to lose after Ukraine, would be on board for such a peace plan.
I think a NATO intervention could end the war very quickly. The hesitation is with Putin and his nukes. Would he? He might. But would his military follow orders to launch? We think it's only Putin making that decision. But the military itself has to understand that launching a nuke would also be signing their own death warrant.

That may depend on whether they are fighting a NATO-with-U.S. or a NATO-without-U.S.

King Trump has divvied up the world, & Putin gets Russia & Europe, Xi gets Asia, & Trump gets the Americas.

That's the worry. There's a reason Putin was relegated to the Dresden backwater during his KGB days.
