(50,950 posts)47. I understand and agree with your opposition to the recent action but,
I am not sure that I would agree that a person in the military should have deduced they were being given an illegal order. With the information I have heard so far, it seems like the plan was well designed and carried out to minimize collateral damage. Now, if we don't want limited actions, like this one, to be taken by our government, then we have to get the right people in office, we have to convince our fellow Americans to vote better. But I wouldn't expect efforts to change the military in the way you suggest to be fruitful. And this latest action is quite different than the boat strikes where there were clearer lines crossed with regards to indiscriminate killing.
