Here's my theory about Trump's focus on Greenland

35. I don't know what to think for sure but thinking in your direction.

I just looked up some info on Greenland. The GDP is $3B (180 global rank) a year, fishing is the primary revenue source, Denmark gives the island government $500M-$600M a year, the island is about the size of Mexico, the island surface is 80% covered with ice a mile thick, mining is only a merging industry and it has a U.S. military base.

Trump says the U.S. needs it so Russia or China won't take it. Why would China or Russia want it? How would they go about getting it? And where is the practical value in China, Russia or the U.S. taking ownership? If mining was a serious or viable consideration, you'd think they were already doing it in a serious fashion. So, what's left? A discount on shrimp?

If it isn't narcissism combined with plain stupidity, then maybe it's just distraction. He's got ICE people trying to purge the country of immigrants, now shooting American citizens, declining popularity with his base, GOP lawmakers turning against him, the never ending Ukraine war, the price of groceries, the Epstein files and mid terms that are a real threat to his wannabe dictatorship.

But the sumbich was in the tall weeds the first time around and didn't learn a thing so why expect anything different now?
