most people I knew said they hadn't voted for Nixon (who had won 61% of the vote 2 years earlier).

Nixon, I think, is the person who benefits most from Trump. We're no longer saying he was the worst president ever! I even found myself saying, "Was Watergate really that bad? And Trump did establish the EPA. And he went to China."
