I think the corruption has pushed us too far beyond being able to actually restore American Democracy. Until that is taken out of campaigns, a level playing field is established, citizens united is repealed and campaign spending is capped at a low level, nest-feathering and self-interest protection will be what candidates spend their time doing, and they won't care about what we are about. It's been painfully obvious that few Democrats are leading out in the resistance to Trump, that's all grass roots. They will benefit from it, but I think there are some independent candidates emerging who aren't going to seek the party's money or endorsements, but will be completely committed to its alleged values.
