14. I thought by my age

I would be the wise and all-knowing family matriarch. This is a real jolt to one's system. I think most of the world is probably having a nervous breakdown.

It reminds me of how rational people in Germany and much of Europe must have felt in the 1930s and 1940s. Much too much evil for any one individual to absorb.
