Homes near the river destroyed, cars and people washed away, at least five people drowned in their cars or basement apartments, if I remember right.
Officials at the time were speculating a number of homeless were drowned and washed into the river by the flood current coming off the streetsand never found.
The water in those videos was at least 2 ft. deep at street level, and it looked fast. That's strong enough to drown you if you get pulled into the current and trapped under a car.
