(38,225 posts)You WILL have Social Security - and part of the reason you will is because this tax holiday is over.
I'm a very high earner - let me say it again -
After the payroll tax holiday ended (it was supposed to be one year - not two) - I said a sigh of relief. That shores it up for my mom (she turned 65 in November).
Now - we need to buffer it! Build it up for the next two generations.
You know the easiest way to do this (and get REALLY REALLY mad when you read this) . . . tax me past my first 106.5K a year.
See that - it's a game they are playing. You are a pawn in it. Don't believe it.
Scream! Yell! Storm the damn Bastille and DEMAND they take out payroll taxes on every single cent I make. Scream. Get loud. Scream and get loud right now.
It is a simple solution. I'm not willing to starve our baby boomers and leave them out in the cold. The Payroll Tax Holiday was the single stupidest idea ever. Because it played right into the IndieTeaPublicans destroy the United States Government plan.
But I'm also not willing to throw younger workers under the bus who are getting caught up in this great Reset.
Or wait - wait for it - how about some loan forgiveness . . . if only you would get really really mad and deman they tax me at a higher rate - maybe that could happen.
Not trying to give you are hard time for the sake of giving you a hard time - but Facebook is not the answer. Loud protest and activism are. Here it is 2012 - and I'm back to weekly correspondence with Lautenberg and Menendez triple, double, dog daring them to tax me. I'm even going after Leonard Lance's manhood.
