30. Just keep educating.

When I left metropolitan KCMO to come to L.A. 20 plus years ago all I got was the following;
Do you know Dorothy and Toto?
How many tornadoes have you been in?
Did you go cow tipping?
How big was the farm you lived on?
What do you do for fun when everything is flat?

You get the idea. Did it get on my nerves. Yup. But I just kept at it and I don't hear these things as much anymore. I find it pretty funny overall.

One of my nephews confuses people all the time. He wears cowboy boots and hat, comes from the country in Kansas but is a complete nerd. He calls himself a Sophisticated Red-Neck. He defies logic to those around him and I think that is terrific.

Transplanting to L.A. the other side of it was:

Did you come here to become an actor?
Are you in a band?
What field of entertainment are you here for?

None of the above. I was asked if I wanted to go to California and I said yes.
