(37,573 posts)I thought Bush's 911 speech was crap. I thought, and still think that somebody INSIDE his administration was responsible for the anthrax attacks. I was sickened when Lott and Daschle stood there and Lott said "there's no opposition party". When Bush said a few days later that Americans should "return to normal activities" I said that my normal activity was to be critical of Bush policies and that I was happy to return to that.
But I was not against the invasion of Afghanistan.
I thought Iraq probably did have WMD, but that did not make them any more of an imminent threat than Russia's WMD that I grew up with.
I thought the invasion of Iraq would produce many more US casualties and that the blow-back from that would drum Bush out of office.
I thought Bush was doing such a bad job as President that a majority of Americans were aware of it and that he would lose 2004 so badly that he might, like Goldwater and Hoover and Landon - even lose in Kansas.
I hate the word bipartisan when it means that BOTH parties vote for a piece of crap like the Obama tax cuts that NEITHER party should vote for, and am disgusted that there is so little public opposition from the left. Or at least so little that is allowed on the M$M.
