(38,057 posts)They still call us n*ggers - no different than in the early 1990s. Or as Paul Mooney said - he never knew racism until he left the deep South and moved out there as a kid . . In the 1950's.
Taking a gun and putting bullets in people is never an answer. But in reading his manifesto - he says what I've heard when in a room full of other black Americans . . . In regards to the President.
And his experiences as a young kid - mirror mine. Especially the bully thing. My brother got that one - M.S. punched him, called him a n*gger on the playground - my brother kicked him to get away from him - brother was the bully. Small town outside of Rochester NY in th at 70's/early 80's.
Black kids in white neighborhoods know they have to take it. No one stands up for them. And god forbid they retaliate.
When I read that manifesto - I read 30 years of taking it - but on a depressed/mentally ill man with Military training who wants Hillary in 2016? How many more are there out there.
The FB worship? That's frightening. That's anger. That's powerless and angry. And a gun to take out one's anger is not the answer.
Terribly sad he mentioned Trayvon Martin - but it was necessary. Non black America underestimates how livid black America is about that and the "boys will be boys" attitude about Zimmerman. He put that in his manifesto. And he starts killing people around what would have been Trayvon's birthday. All of the cover up and protection oftat murder Zimmerman, plus a simmering anger - and tho FB Pages scare the hell out of me.
