(1,309 posts)tea party crazies and big time conservatives. The republican party once had somewhat of an ideology based more on faith rather than science for sure, but a unifying ideology which sought on its face at least to do good for mankind. When it was totally taken over by the billionaires, they needed something to hide their selfish greed and control of the party. First they invented a political economic theory-supply side economics which was not based on any evidence, just the necessity to protect the rich rulers. When that failed they turmned vast sums of their money to direct the ignorants against their own needs. Remeber the cries of the ignorants when they said Government keep your hands off my social security. Now we are supposed to believe that there are a group of purist conservatives, almost libertarians who really do not want to control our schools, our bedrooms, our lives, except when it is necessary to attract fundamentalist voters and protect the rich rulers of the party. Why is approval so high. I think it must be family tradition and ignorance combined with nostalgia. Come to think of it that seemed to be Romney's message.
