For the same reason Progressives have one every year in May or Junehttp://www.ourfuture.org/conference/2012/main, and yes, including years after elections.

It is good propaganda and it is what these groups do. Propaganda promoting their issues.

The best we can do is to criticize their ideas, and show how they are out of touch. CONSERVATISM IS THE PROBLEM.
