I guess i could be wrong but it struck me as if you were attempting to belittle the worker from that industry who was suggesting that the conditions were so dangerous to have no regulations. If that was not the intent, i am afraid i do not really understand what the intent actually was.
I agree with you that there is a LOT wrong with existing workers rights in this country. And that is a discussion that could be reasonably had WITHOUT forcing a false equivalency between fields which have poor enforcement of existing regulations/protections and the porn industry which has little to no regulations/protections at all.
I am sorry that you were forced to work in unsafe conditions. My own husband has worked pouring footers and commercial roofing (talk about a dangerous job) before he settled into a career as an auto service tech. It is not like i don't fully understand blue collar worker concerns. I just don't think that concerns in this area should somehow lead to a dismissal of the concerns of women's health issues as they relate to work in porn.
