(11,464 posts)I remember a NYC joke-
Back in 1973 Tug McGraw said "You Gotta Believe" (and I did.)The NY Mets had one of the biggest come from behind upsets ever.
Years later, Tug was talking to his son, (liberal)Country Singer Tim McGraw and
Tug again said "You gotta believe"
and Tim said to Tug, "Well Dad, I have Faith".
Rest in peace Tug.
It's gonna be a long time before I believe in the Mets thanks to Bernie Madoff screwing the Mets owners.
as to the subject matter,
Should guns be banned from private citizens?
Damn right I gotta believe the 2nd will one day be reinterpreted as it has been so many times before, this time without the 5 bad ones, the true interpretation will happen.
Sometimes Sequels can be better than the original. Happens only once in a Blue Moon, but it does happen. It will with the 2nd.
After all, what was Heller but a reinterpretation.
So, you gotta believe. I do.
Once the 2nd is reinterpreted after HRC takes office, perhaps, in such a stroke of irony,
when President Obama is nominated for the US SUpreme Court and he replaces a retiring
Scalia or Thomas, and writes the majority ruling, then everything and anything will be possible for a civilized society.
Because, well, it goes without saying
A private citizen under the 2nd today could claim they need a shoulder to air missile, and then what? Should everyone have their own bunker busting bombs?
You gotta believe, they can't and a new court will rule without parsing just what the 2nd means.
Then one can classify the NRA as a terror org.(actually under the war on terrror, I don't see why that couldn't happen already) and have their assets frozen.
After which anyone who donates to a terror org., well, one cannot donate to a terror org, can they?
No funds, no salary for Wayne.
Do you think he will work for free? Nobody works for free.
Reinterpret and out.
BTW, don't forget to watch the season finale of "The Good Wife" (a tv show that tapes in NYC and puts 100s and 100s of union workers to work.)
Mike Bloomberg is playing himself on the episode of the show, which is an hour long show, starring Julianne Marguiles and Josh Charles and wellness is the word of the day.
