(26,060 posts)I worked for over a decade for Vanity Fair (one of the largest lingerie companies in the world) and there were NO men designers of bras. Panties, yes, but bras were all women. Granted, there were many bras made for how they looked rather than for the support (we called these the 5 minute bras - your partner would see it and in 5 minutes it was off) but there are many bras out there that are engineering marvels. With the craze over breast implants, there were a lot of complaints about no "pretty" bras for larger cup sizes so that's changed a lot over the years.
Also, women notoriously wear the wrong size - they'll lose (or gain) 20-30 pounds, buy a new wardrobe but wear the same bra. Any decent department store should have a fit person in the bra department - I recommend all women go the one of them and get properly fitted. Nowadays, there are bras for every set of breasts whether talking about being sexy or supportive and there are even ones that are both.
