(34,179 posts)7. You know, there have been tax hikes on the rich before,
Tax loopholes have been closed before, and you know what happens, the rich pay their teams for accountants to find ways to protect their money, offshore tax havens, various other foreign accounts, tax free investments, the list if almost endless.
Seniors and the poor don't have this wealth of options available to them. When their SS benefits get cut, they suffer.
That is the sad reality of this situation, even if you don't want to admit it.

The big offense is that a Dem POTUS would even speak of changing SS for a budget.
