(2,570 posts)22. yep, some of us have been using that analogy for well over a decade now
every since the DLC blazed a trail through the "middle" of the two forks in the ideological road back in the Clinton years.
Sadly that trail has been migrating slowly to the right for about as long, shifting what is effectively the ideological center line and what is to be expected from those residing politically on it.
That's why some of us lefties are characterized as "extreme", despite being much farther from the cliff at the left end of the ideological spectrum than the modern rightwingnut, which has one foot over their end.
